The Stockdale Fire Department proudly protects the citizens and property of Stockdale & Allenport Boroughs. Although we serve a primarily residential area, we have the Mon River Industrial group (Former Allenport Steel Mill) within our response area as well.
The department runs out of one station and operates with 7 pieces of apparatus including a Rescue-Engine labled "Squad", an Engine, a Tanker, Utility/Medic, Wildland Fire Brush Truck, a Jet Ski, a water rescue boat, a unmanned arial vehicle (drone) with thermal imaging capabilities, and a UTV side-by-side. The department currently consists of 25 active members. Our line officers consist of the Fire Chief, 2 Assistant Chiefs, & 4 Captains. The Chief of the department is Tom "TJ' Wilkinson, whom has 47 years of service in the fire service.
We are dispatched by Washington County 911. Members of the department are notified of an alarm via minitors/cell phones.
The Stockdale Fire Department provides mutual aid to various departments surrounding our response area on first alarm assignments, as well as having area departments assist us. The departments that we closely work with are Roscoe (Station 16), Monessen (Westmoreland County Station 81), North Belle Vernon (Westmoreland County Station 80) and the Charleroi Fire District, which consists of our department (Station 17), Fallowfield Township, (Station 47) Lock 4, (Station 22) and Charleroi, (Station 33). The Fire District is the product of 4 fire departments that worked together and formed specific assignments for each department on all structure fires, whether commercial or residential, as well as assignments for station fills (stand-by's) and location-based automatic fire alarm calls.
