At 14:26 hrs, Station 17 and Westmoreland Station 31 (Webster) were alerted to the City of Monessen to handle a motor vehicle accident while their first alarm assignment was committed to a house fire with possible entrapment. While enroute to the MVA, Squad 17 was advised fire was not needed on scene and was requested to divert to the structure fire, assisting Westmoreland 81-1 (Monessen), Westmoreland 81-2 (Monessen Hilltop), Westmoreland 80 (North Belle Vernon), Fayette 42 (Washington Township), 33 (Charleroi), 63 (Carroll Township) & 11 (Bentleyville). Squad & Utility 17 responded with 8 firefighters and assisted with overhaul as well as structural shoring with RIT 11. While it was determined that no residents were home at the time of the fire, unfortunately three dogs were located.
