At 23:57 hrs, Station 17 along with the first alarm assignment of 22 (Lock 4), 47 (Fallowfield Twp), Westmoreland 81-1 (Monessen), Westmoreland 81-2 (Monessen Hilltop), & 11 (Bentleyville) were activated as mutual aid for a possible structure fire. While enroute, the incident was updated to a motor vehicle accident with entrapment and a working fire, resulting in a brush fire on I-70 West just passed the 39MM. Due to the severity of the incident and active vehicle & brush fire, command 33 requested everyone from the structure fire assignment continue to proceed to I-70 and added Fayette 4 (Belle Vernon) along with station 92 (Hazmat) for a fuel spill.

Squad 17 assisted with debris cleanup and removal from the roadway while Tanker 17 supplied Engine 33-3 for fire suppression. All units operated for an extended period of time with the interstate remaining shut down.
